The European thematic group on “VET and the labour market, guidance and other specific groups” (for more information about the group: www.lmvet.net) is organising a thematic Conference in Reykjavik (Iceland) on 11-12 October 2007 entitled “Entrepreneurship in vocational education -a key to social inclusion and economic development in Europe”.
The conference aims at discussing how education and entrepreneurial activity may stimulate each other. A special focus will be on entrepreneurship training offered in vocational training, including formal, informal and non-formal training, and in particular for disadvantaged groups such as young unqualified people, women, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities. This Leonardo Thematic conference is organised by the Icelandic Leonardo da Vinci National Agency and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in Iceland, with the support of the European Commission and the Leonardo National Agencies from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, Lithuania, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Spain. The conference will comprise plenary sessions, workshops and an exhibition. Four workshops are planned to allow delegates to engage with stakeholders involved in entrepreneurship training.
The workshops will focus on:

• “Inclusionary entrepreneurship”
• “Policy versus practice in fostering entrepreneurship training in VET”
• “Encouraging VET Teachers to take up entrepreneurship programmes and teaching”
• “Different models of entrepreneurship training”
