“MOBILITY BEYOND BORDERS”
In 2007 the Leonardo da Vinci Thematic Monitoring Group on “Transparency of Qualifications, Validation of non-formal and informal Learning and Credit transfer” organises two thematic events, addressed to project promoters and beneficiaries, policy makers, experts, VET practitioners and any other subject interested in the themes.
The first event, entitled “Mobility Beyond Borders - The contribution of Transparency of Qualifications and Credit Transfer in VET”, was held in Bucharest (Romania) on 23 March 2007.
The seminar aimed at exploring European policy developments and projects practices in the fields of transparency of qualifications, credit transfer and validation of non-formal and informal learning, from the perspective of how these arrangements contribute to the geographical, sectoral, institutional mobility of students and workers. The event intended to allow and stimulate mutual knowledge, exchange of experience and cross-fertilisation between VET policy makers, experts and practitioners, also in view of stimulating new project ideas in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013.
With the contribution of European and national authorities, National Agencies responsible for Programme management, social partners, relevant stakeholders and experts, the seminar highlighted in particular the Leonardo da Vinci Programme's contribution to European mobility, the European Credit Transfer system in VET as a support to transnational mobility, the quality in mobility (the certification of mobility periods and the accreditation of organizations), as well as theEuropean Mobility from the perspective of an enterprise. Three workshops focused in particular on:
- “Quality tools for mobility”,
- “Credit transfer in practice” and
- “Validating non-formal and informal learning”,
each envisaging an expert presentation and some Leonardo da Vinci project examples.
Further to inputs from the three workshops, a final roundtable involving European and national authorities, social partners, relevant stakeholders and experts discussed on open challenges for mobility.
